Ranking glossaryWhat every sorting label means
Rank by
Reorders every filtered row using the selected metric.
Confidence
Evidence strength from High to Review—not a rating of the company or investment.
Market cap
Company size: current share price multiplied by total shares outstanding.
Index weight
The security’s percentage share of the S&P 500 in this research snapshot.
A–Z
Sorts by company name; select again to reverse to Z–A.
Split count
Number of recorded split events in the displayed event history. Partial histories are flagged.
Share price
The split-adjusted price of one current share on 24 July 2026, in USD.
IPO price
Raw per-share offering price at a comparable, sourced IPO; not adjusted for later splits.
Listing date
Month and year of the comparable IPO or relevant listing-lineage event.
Per-share price ÷ IPO
Today’s per-share quote divided by the raw IPO price. Because the share units differ after splits, this is not total return.
IPO growth
Change from the IPO price to the reconstructed value of one original share, excluding dividends.
Descending order. ↑ is ascending and ↕ means the column can be sorted.
Original value
Current price × cumulative split factor, or the current value of a verified successor-share basket.
Split factor
How many current shares or successor units one original share became. ≈ marks a reported rather than exact factor.

Provenance
No split found0 filtered rows separated from the original-share leaderboard

These rows use a provisional 1× factor because the current evidence pass found no split. They are searchable and sourced, but “no event found” is not the same as an issuer-verified never-split history.

Bounded evidence loop

A number stays only when its path survives checks.

Each pass resolves the security, retrieves evidence, extracts typed corporate actions, calculates an exact product where possible, challenges conflicts and records the decision. Unsupported changes are rejected; unresolved candidates remain visible.

“I care less about a spectacular number than whether another person can reproduce it. NeverSplit treats every figure as a claim with a lineage, not just a cell in a table.”

About the project

Built to make financial claims inspectable.

NeverSplit is an independent research project by Leath Al Obaidi, an economist working in regulatory finance. It began as a stock-split question and became a test of how financial claims should be built: resolve the security, trace its corporate actions, calculate the result and preserve uncertainty when sources disagree.

This 503-security S&P 500 snapshot is designed for exploration and verification—not investment advice.

Split mechanics

The pizza does not get bigger.

Same company value. More pieces. A lower price per piece.

01

What a split changes

A 2-for-1 split doubles share count and roughly halves price per share. Ownership percentage is unchanged.

02

What original value means

It is the current value of all descendant shares from one starting share—not a tradeable quote.

03

Why lineages matter

Share-class restructurings and spin-offs can require a successor basket rather than one multiplication.

04

What reverse splits do

They reduce share count and are preserved as exact fractional factors when the evidence supports them.
